BREAKING: Trump's Behavior Today Should Worry You

Good evening, this is Really American. It is Thursday, June 25, 2026. Today is a case study in what happens when a president gets away with it because nobody important enough makes him stop.
The Supreme Court handed Trump two major wins this morning, and Sotomayor was so alarmed she read her dissent from the bench and told her colleagues people will die. Meanwhile, six Americans are in handcuffs over a paint job at the Reflecting Pool while zero people have been arrested over Epstein. CNN’s own data chief is shrieking on live TV about Trump torching his housing bill to chase a voting crackdown instead. And Trump is bragging about a rally crowd that every camera in Washington proves did not exist.
Before we get into tonight’s news, you need to know who else is buying their way into your feed. Fox just struck a $22 billion deal to take over Roku. The Ellison family got DOJ approval to put Bari Weiss in charge of both CBS News and CNN at once. Bezos has owned the Washington Post for over a decade. Murdoch now runs Fox and Roku in the same breath. Every one of those men has a direct financial relationship with the administration you are about to read about, and every one of them decides what tens of millions of Americans see and do not see each night. Really American does not answer to any of them. We are funded entirely by readers, which means the only person we have to satisfy is you. We are currently behind on our membership goals for June and need 30 more people to upgrade their memberships to a paid one today. If you have been reading us for free, tonight is the night to upgrade. Subscribe or upgrade right now.
LIBERAL JUSTICES EVISCERATE TRUMP FROM THE BENCH
Sonia Sotomayor read her dissent out loud from the bench Thursday, the sharpest rebuke a Justice can deliver, after the Supreme Court’s six conservatives ruled that migrants waiting at the southern border have not technically “arrived” in the United States and therefore have no right to asylum processing.
“The consequences of today’s decision are predictable,” Sotomayor said. “More people will die.”
The ruling effectively blesses the “metering” tactic Trump’s first administration used to choke off asylum claims at the border, letting Customs and Border Protection cap how many people could even ask for protection each day. Sotomayor invoked the Jewish refugees aboard the MS St. Louis, turned away from safe harbor before many died in the Holocaust, and argued the majority’s logic would do the same thing to anyone fleeing danger today.
In a second 6-3 ruling, the same conservative majority let Trump strip Temporary Protected Status from hundreds of thousands of Haitian and Syrian immigrants while the underlying lawsuit is still being fought. Elena Kagan’s dissent, joined by Sotomayor and Ketanji Brown Jackson, did something rare. It quoted Trump’s own words back at him, the ones the majority would not even print. Kagan listed them herself, including his claim that Haitian immigrants in Springfield, Ohio were eating pets and his description of Haiti as a “shithole country.”
CNN reported that the rulings give Trump two of the biggest legal victories of his second term just months before the midterms.
This is not abstract. Families who followed the rules and waited at the border now have no legal path forward, and the people Trump smeared with racist lies are the same people the Court just stripped of protection.
SIX REFLECTING POOL ARRESTS. ZERO EPSTEIN ARRESTS.
Trump’s own renovation turned the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool into a green, algae covered mess with paint peeling off the bottom. Six people have now been arrested over it. Months after the DOJ released millions of pages on Jeffrey Epstein, nobody new has been arrested at all.
Rep. Suhas Subramanyam laid out the math to The Hill: more arrests over a paint job than over Epstein’s entire trafficking network. “That’s how this administration operates these days,” he said.
One of those six arrests was retired Olympian David Hearn, who told the Washington Post he was handcuffed for touching a loose flap of coating. Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche told NBC News back in April, on Epstein, “we do not have a case against anybody.” Trump himself told reporters in February it was time for the country to “get on to something else.” A February YouGov poll found 53 percent of Americans believe Trump is actively covering up Epstein’s crimes.
Trump can mobilize federal law enforcement in days when the target is an Olympic athlete and a paint flake. He has had since November, when the Epstein Files Transparency Act forced document releases, to mobilize the same urgency for a child trafficking case that named some of the most powerful men in the country. He chose not to.
CNN DATA GURU: TRUMP TORCHED HIS OWN CAMPAIGN PROMISE LIVE ON AIR
Trump blew off the signing of a bipartisan affordable housing bill this week, less than an hour before the ceremony, because he wanted Congress to pass his SAVE America Act, a bill restricting voting access, first. CNN’s Harry Enten could not believe what he was watching.
“Oh God, oh God, no, what are you doing?” Enten said, imagining the reaction of any Republican in Congress watching Trump walk away from the one issue that got him elected.
Enten’s numbers are brutal. Google searches for “affordability” are up 500 percent versus the pre-2026 average and just hit an all time high this week. In April 2025, 52 percent of voters still believed Trump was keeping his campaign promises. That number has flipped. Today 55 percent say he is breaking them, up from a 47 percent low just over a year ago.
Trump ran on fixing the cost of living. Instead he is spending political capital restricting how people vote while rent and groceries keep climbing, and even CNN’s own data chief is openly mocking the decision on live television.
TRUMP BRAGS ABOUT A CROWD THAT WASN’T THERE
Trump posted on Truth Social that 45,000 people packed his Great American State Fair rally Wednesday night and that “everybody stayed right until the end” of his speech. Neither claim is true.
The Washington Post reported the crowd “thinly covered an area about the length of the National Museum of American History,” an area smaller than some outdoor movie screenings. Video circulating on social media, including footage from Bulwark reporter Jared Poland, shows people streaming out of the rally while Trump was still talking. The Post also reported Trump “did not appear to enjoy” his own speech, which wrapped in under thirty minutes.
The fair itself is a taxpayer funded festival for the country’s 250th birthday that several Democratic led states, including Oregon, Washington, Massachusetts and Illinois, skipped entirely over cost and politics concerns. Maine sent no delegation at all, leaving an empty room with a chair and some lobster facts on the wall.
This is the same fight Trump picked with the press over his 2017 inauguration crowd, except now there is a difference. Reporters on the ground and video on every phone caught him lying in real time.
HELP REALLY AMERICAN MEET OUR SUBSCRIBER GOAL THIS MONTH
A Supreme Court Justice told the country people will die and almost no major network led with it tonight. The same administration that arrested an Olympian over a paint flake has made zero arrests in a trafficking case that named some of the most powerful men in the country. That is not an accident. It is what happens when the outlets deciding what counts as news answer to Murdoch, Bezos and the Ellisons instead of to readers. Really American answers to subscribers and nobody else.
