I sure do miss the Obamas in the White House. Such class and intelligence.

Thank you for covering what occurred today. It brought a sense of where we were before T came on the scene. And, more importantly-where we need/must get back to. There have always been arguments between the Democrats Republicans and Independents, but, we were able to decide where we stood without the fear of being put on an enemies list, or , threatened with a lawsuit.

My biggest question is, when will T's so called cabinet realize the time has come to 25th him??

S H's avatar

When the repugnant congress realize the gig is up. The useful idiot is no longer useful. They are traitors to their constituents & the constitution.

Donna Oliveira's avatar

We don’t want to 25th him.

Let me restate that… We’d all love to 25th him. But, doing that would leave the rest of his Nazi regime still in power destroying everything America used to be.

He Must be Impeached, Convicted and Removed to face prosecution if we are to save our country. Because, when that happens, his regime is removed along with him.

Unfortunately, this cannot be achieved until the Democrats take back Congress in November. Even if we tried to “25th him”, it wouldn’t happen now because the Republican’ts currently control all three branches of government.

Shitler is already actively planning ways to make sure Democrats Cannot win in November! We All Must continue the fight against this wannabe Dicktator (Spelled Correctly). It’s Not going to be easy by any stretch of the imagination. We can’t let that deter us from uniting and being a force to reckon with. All done Legally with No Violence. If there’s violence, we’d be playing into his tiny little hands and we will lose Everything.

My personal favorite way of resisting? Be sure to point and laugh at Every MAGAt I come across. Whether that be an elected official or a member of the general public. They’re very easy to spot with their Red “Hatred”Hats on their empty heads!

It wouldn't happen if (when) Dems take the House and even the Senate. The votes aren't there.

Mike Morgan's avatar

The Democrats have no clue how to impeach anyone. True justice would address Democrats crimes against America 🇺🇸

Helen Nowlin's avatar

Unfortunately, the protection for the illegalities at the highest level was being protected by republicans who refused to bring justice home.

AL's avatar

It’s not a matter of “not knowing” it’s a matter of Math. Democrats don’t have it. Republicans didn’t either, and the one time they did? Nixon resigned. No president has ever been successfully removed from office due to impeachment.

I get people like to whine and generalize but it’s hardly helpful or practical.

Helen Nowlin's avatar

The only reason Nixon resigned was the clear threat of impeachment from his party. That didn't happen against Trump (opposite in fact). Many of those in Trump's first campaign were involved in Nixon's presidency.

Donna Oliveira's avatar

Republicans today are not the Republicans of the past. They have Zero morals and are Greedy as heck.

It’s sad how Shitler has destroyed the Republican Party.

Helen Nowlin's avatar

Under the U.S. Constitution, the 14th Amendment, Section 3 (disqualification clause), Trump was disqualified from running in 2024 because of felony convictions and participation in J6. Congress didn't exempt him from the disqualification by a 2/3 vote. Silence isn't construed as a vote.

The Obama event was class; Trump’s was crass.

This from conservative columnist Bret Stephens in the NYT:

“And the central fact of our time is that we are led — I am using that verb in the loosest sense — by a man whose idea of courage is bullying, whose idea of honor is knavery, whose idea of loyalty is convenience, whose idea of patriotism is self-idolization, and whose idea of principle is anything that suits his need and his pleasure.”

Taffy1764's avatar

My question to Bret Stephen’s is, how the hell are you just finding this out????

Simply speaking, he seems to be a bit of a stinker.

Freakin love it, and he’s not wrong there. Only about a decade late. David Brooks would “both-sides” it.

Obama and his wife brought hope and love to America! Trump and his minions bring doom and gloom! (Unless you’re a Billionaire!)

Great explainer! The snub of dumpty was pure chef's kiss 💋. I miss the days when our president was presidential and not a rage driven hateful toddler.

These are truly disgusting people- in our Whitehouse

Susan Paulo's avatar

1)Trump is a disgusting POS; 2)Trump cannot “hold a candle” to Obama and his accomplishments; 3)peace deal does not have Israel buy-in so unlikely to succeed and it’s a horrible agreement!

Everything about him and his family gang is disgusting—and that’s putting it mildly.

Angela LaGreca's avatar

you wrote that Trump skipped Obama event but i read elsewhere he wasn't invited

Stephanie's avatar

He wasn’t invited. Why would he be??

He’s a bore and would have ruined the celebration.

And it was a great day of celebration of this country and what’s BEST about it.

Pamela S.'s avatar

Yes. He would have barged to the front and tried to make it all about himself.

P Leonard's avatar

Rightfully so. Absolutely.

I listened to HCR read part of Michelle Obama's speech and cried because of the loss I feel and my fear we will never get back what we had.

Taffy1764's avatar

You know Debra I thought that too until yesterday. Then I saw all the joy in Chicago and NYC, and I believe we can get back there. The people haven’t lost their spirit. We have been in an abusive relationship, and baby when we finally break those chains, we’re the same America we’ve always been. Not perfect for dang sure, but always striving. I honestly believe too many prayers have went up, we won’t be ignored, I saw that yesterday!!! God bless you, keep a the faith!!!

In January, Washington violently seized a sovereign capital to secure a 50-million-barrel oil ransom for ExxonMobil. We thought we were invincible.

In February, we tried the exact same decapitation playbook in the Middle East. It catastrophically failed. By June, the U.S. was forced to the table at Versailles, handing over $300 billion in concessions just to keep the global economy afloat.

The American unipolar moment didn't just fade—it drowned in the Strait of Hormuz.

Political hubris, with a little help from Pooty and his friends, I honestly believe. Gawd, they flew Vance to help Orban.

What a total slob and spoiled brat for his entire 80 years. Why should he stoop to clean up his mess when someone else has always covered his ass? Now it's Depends.

No accountability whatsoever. I started talking to my kid about accountability when she was a toddler. A person with no accountability is nothing more than a black hole, never to be counted on or trusted
