In that same state, a Trump-endorsed congressional candidate is on track to lose by more than 17 points, to a man who dropped out of the race last month and stayed on the ballot only because it was too late to remove his name. In Kansas, voters rejected a Republican scheme to let dark money buy the state Supreme Court after opponents were outspent more than 2-to-1. In Missouri, voters refused to let Republicans gut their own right to pass laws by ballot initiative, in a fight where opponents were outspent roughly $6 million to zero.
