I think the 'days of thunder' was just Trump breaking wind. In fact in colloquial English, that is precisely what 'trump' means.

Oxford English Dictionary:

verb [no object] informal break wind audibly: someone just trumped in a crowded lift.

Pulte was picked by Trumpy because he expects him in a cage match with Treasury Sec. Scott Bessent at the White House. See: https://www.politico.com/news/magazine/2025/09/08/scott-bessent-bill-pulte-blowup-00549956

But all of you working in the intell community might now get offered one of those spiffy 50-year mortgages that Pulte tried selling the White House: https://www.politico.com/news/2025/11/10/trumps-50-year-mortgage-plan-is-getting-panned-allies-blame-this-man-00645654

Think about it. Trump 1.0 lasted two years before Congress hobbled him. Trump 2.0 is going down faster? Why? Because when he fills his cabinet with crooks who are really bad crooks they keep getting caught. My theory is Trump knew this was coming which is why he openly grifts taxpayers dollars into his pockets, his family’s pockets, and a few select big bro tech boys… think $40 billion to Argentina first, followed by Theil’s escape! Think ballroom- the secure underground bunker where he and his buddies can hide when the public starts looking for him. Maybe someone told him a story about October 1793. Unfortunately this time around the whole world will be looking for him. Quel domage!

The Elephant has a Trunk: that is, a Trump funk. It started the day the party allowed him to be the party. I seriously doubt it will survive as a group of any relevance after a subsequent party cleans up the s**tstorm it has created. The oligarchs will have to go back under their rocks to run the country clandestinely as they did before Trumplethinskin became their alter ego and allowed them to operate openly.

You can’t do bad things to people and expect no consequences! That’s not how it works, just ask the God you pretend to believe in.

I would very much like for Steve Bannon’s days of thunder to end with a bang. The kind of bang you get from a firing squad after the guests of honor have been convicted of colluding with an enemy nation, and committing treason.

Everyone that is supporting Trump will go down with him. They will start falling like dominoes and that can’t happen soon enough.

It’s fatigue — because when you force yourself to continually lie, your body & brain will rebel.

Putting thoroughly unqualified persons into extremely vital goverbmental positions continues, courtesy the loyalty-demanding Trump.

WHERE ARE THE E FILES?

Larry's avatar

There is one person in charge of hiding the files. The rest them are just enabling the coverup.

As a Canadian who deeply cares about the USA, I can only offer an outsider perspective even though no one has asked.

Perhaps Really American isn’t the forum for my views, but I don’t know if a better one.

What I read, watch and listen to day after day since 2016 is a litany of outrages without effective responses.

Today’s post includes internal concerns at the White House, disasters such as the Iran war and the Freedom 250 concert, unqualified White House administration, destruction of independent media.

Add these to a short list of others - Trump’s embrace of Putin, the constant grifting (stock market, jumbo jet, etc), the killing of schoolchildren in Iran and fishermen off the coast of Venezuela, the cover up of the Epstein files, the obvious and blatant corruption of the Supreme Court, Greenland, ICE and the concentration camps, election subversion, Trump’s mental decline and incessant lying, inaction on gun controls, the influence of money in decision making… I could keep adding to this list, but you get the point.

When I consider this long list of outrages, I have to ask how much longer can this go on? How can it be stopped before the USA is irrevocably changed or destroyed? This may not be a good analogy, but if you hire a contractor to fix your house and you discover weeks into the project that he has messed everything up, has even damaged your neighbour’s property, has overspent on items you didn’t even ask for, would you allow the mismanagement to continue or would you fire the guy on the spot?

Who in the USA can build the necessary coalition to get rid of Trump and his cronies, stop the damage, and begin managing the country in accordance with the Constitution and the rule of law? If there isn’t a lower ego leader to get this done, I fear the damage will continue, one outrage a day until 2028. And then it’ll be way too late. The 2026 midterms may be too late, given the election mischief right under your very noses.

Who will step up to represent the 70-80% of Americans who want to see a government that truly represents their interests and not just those who can buy politicians more interested in keeping their jobs over serving the people?

For what it’s worth. Good luck.

I was in the middle of SF bay ( angel island) fireworks every direction SF, Oakland, SanJose 20 small towns in between All fire trucks every police car had horns & sirens going, navy & AF doing jet flyover, citizens doing fireworks and shooting guns and then Australia navy battle ship fired a 21 gun salute over the bay area from just outside the GG Bridge. The visuals and noise only outdone by the pride you felt. A MOST memorable experience.

Won't be seeing a celebration like that again unless trump DIES. 🙏

To be fair, Trump is the ultimate Z-list celebrity. (Not to mention an absurdly washed-up, geriatric no-hit wonder…)
